LOCATE AN EASEMENT

If you are looking to determine  you have a sewer easement on your property, the location of a sewer easement on your property or have a surveyor coming out to do work, please call the Iowa Great Lakes Sanitary District at 712-338-2626 ext 2.

The Sanitary District staff will come out within in a day or two and mark the location of the public sewer with green flags and paint.  The easement is marked with white paint on the ground and white flag that say "IGLSD Easement".  The easements are marked based off the center of the pipe, not the center of the manhole.

We recommend if you are planning to build, remodel or add on to an existing structure, please contact the office to locate the sewer easement.  This is best done during the planning stages to prevent any conflicts with the easement.
