CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS 2020

Capital Improvement projects for this year totaled $8,073,009.42.

CENTER LAKE IMPROVEMENTS PHASE 1B

Center Lake Improvement Phase 1B was broken up into four Bid Packages.  This phase of the project was to install the new force main and gravity sewer from the new Hayward Bay Lift Station and to also install gravity sewer east off of Lakeshore Drive to the Nature Center, in Nature Center Road.

  • BID PACKAGE 1
    • This phase of the project started near Highway 71 in the Arrowwood Parking lot to install gravity sewer and manholes from the Center Core sewer line north and end on the eastern edge of Brooks Golf Course.  The contract was awarded to Hulstein Construction with a total project cost of $2,402,757.48.
  • BID PACKAGE 2
    • This phase of the project was to directional bore in a fused force main sewer pipe in two areas.  CES Industrial fused the 18 inch force main and EBI Drilling Services installed the pipe.  The first pipe was installed across Brooks Golf Course and then west of the Dickinson County Nature Center.  The second site was from the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and Nature Center Road going north to the new lift station.  The contact was awarded to Hulstein Construction with a total project cost of $831,530.20
  • BID PACKAGE 3
    • This phase of the project was to install the force main and gravity sewer from along Nature Center Road from Lakeshore Drive to the Dickinson County Nature Center.  This allowed the Nature Center to have gravity sanitary sewer and get rid of the old lift station for that building.  The contract was awarded to Crow River Construction with a total project cost of $2,057,450.43.
  • BID PACKAGE 4
    • This was the final phase of the project and it was to connect the gravity sewer from the 1930's lift station to the new lift station for Haywards Bay.  This project installed gravity sewer between the two lift stations and then grout filled the old Haywards Bay lift station force main with grout.  The contract was awarded to Geislinger & Sons Inc. with a total project cost of $1,151,737.62.

EAST LAKE INTERCEPTOR PROJECT

This project was to improve the East Lake Interceptor that was installed in the late 1970's and early 1980's.  This project worked in two areas the first was south of Bridges Bay Resort and in Oar's Campground.  The project added slope to the pipe to increase capacity in the north construction area.  In the south construction area the pipe route was changed and the pipe slope was improved to create more capacity.  The contract was awarded to H&W Contracting and the final project cost was $1,629,533.69.

WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT SOLAR PROJECT.

This project was to help off set continually increasing power costs.  Ziegler Energy Solutions LLC. submitted the proposal to install solar panel system for the plant.  To learn more about the solar project or to see live power generation and power demand check on the Solar Project Link .
