This project is for the installation of gravity sewer on the south end of Center Lake in Dickinson County, Iowa. The project will contain both guided directional boring methods and open trench installation of C900 pipe. This project is to allow for several properties in this area to be able to connect to the public sewer system and remove septic systems that are creating water quality issues in Center Lake and secondary issues for West Okoboji Lake. The Sanitary District is continuing to make improvement to the public sewer system around the Iowa Great Lakes. There are going to be some up coming road closure that will take place over the next couple of months that the District wants to make people aware of before the roads are shut down.
The first one is the final step of the new Haywards Bay lift station project. This project will be closing down all of Alexander Street, a portion of Lakeshore Drive and a portion of Center Lake Road. The map below shows the closure area.
The next area is on Linden Drive east of the City of Arnolds Park going towards Bridges Bay. The detour for this road will direct traffic to the stop light on Broadway Street and then to Rohr Street and around back to Linden. This will be a full road closure from Triggs Resort to past Bridges Bay Resort. The map below details the road closure area.
The last road closure will be after Linden Drive is fully restored and will be on Rohr Street. This full road closure that will start near Fehrway Drive and to Sandy Lane. The map below details the area of the road closure.

Flag for location of your septic tanks have were delivered today. An HR Green representative will be back through the area next week to see if everyone was able to find their flag. It should be a green colored flag and should be close to the front door.
The Iowa Great Lakes Sanitary District is starting the design phase of the South Center Lake Project. This project will be extending the public sewer to help improve water quality on Center Lake. The project will consist of installing a gravity sewer, a new lift station and a sewer force main. The project is projected to start in the fall of 2020 with the lift station.
