INDUSTRIAL DISCHARGES

Industrial Discharges are regulated by the Sanitary District as a requirement of the NPDES permit.  Specific discharges from industrial facilities are regulated by the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).  The Sanitary District may require pretreatment of any industrial facilities no mater the size of the operation.  These are all specific an need to be reviewed by the Sanitary District for possible discharge requirements.  The Sanitary District will work out a treatment agreement with the industrial facility to discharge at no higher rate than that of the Sanitary District's NPDES permit.

New operations will be required to complete an anti-degradation report for the Iowa DNR.  This is a state law that requires industrial facilities to completed prior to being able to possibly discharge to a wastewater facility.
