Ordinances

Sanitary Districts in Iowa are established by Iowa Code358 and Sanitary Districts are allowed to establish their own ordinances, rules and regulations under Iowa Code 358.12 Board of trustees- powers.  The Sanitary District is an overlaying district, which allows it to control all the sewer system connected to the Districts collection system.  These ordinances are established for several reason such as, but not limited to, protection of the public health, protection of private property, to ensure the Sanitary District facilities are protected, to stay within the State and Federal regulations among other reasons.
